An attractive cherry colour with a ruby tint, the wine has an expansive and generous nose which opens on a host of red fruit, cherry and raspberry aromas mingled with a touch of tobacco and liquorice. Substantial, alert and well-structured on the palate, its very soft tannins are perfectly enfolded in rich cherry-stone, spice, leather and blackcurrant flavours. The finish, combining charm, refinement and character, is thoroughly typical of both the terroir and the vintage.

Palate: A massive attack sustained by well-rounded, remarkably textured tannins. Great overall harmony between forward fruit and a high quality structure. Fine tannic length and an elegant finish.

Calvet Rosa

This Rose Sancerre is 100% Pinot Noir, Style: Dry
The wine has a stunning, bright-salmon colour accented with cherry hints. On the nose is delicately perfumed with light strawberry and morello cherry notes. In the palate it has a bracing but balanced acidity, and intense blackberry and raspberry fruit. On the finish it is refreshing and crisp leaving lingering notes of fresh summer fruits.

Bright ruby red with cherry-red tints. The aroma is of very intense blackberry, cherry, and black currant supported by slightly woody notes of juniper, vanilla and cedar wood. On the palate, the wine starts off fruity with the presence of non-aggressive tannins. The structure is well balanced. Spicy notes of vanilla and cinnamon mark the finish.

This Burgundy from the Côte de Beaune has a rich, deep ruby color. The nose has cherries and wild blackberries. The wine is well rounded with fruity flavors, fine tannins, and a slightly spicy finish. Grapes are harvested by hand. The wine undergoes alcohol then malolactic fermentation in stainless steel vats. It is then clarified with an egg white fining agent. Blend:100% Pinot Noir

This wine really needs an hour after pulling the cork to show its best, so bear that in mind if you pop one. In the glass it displays a good depth of colour, and fires off aromas of powerful cassis fruit that fill the room. There are enticing notes of minerals, sand, cedar and oak too. This has a very classic style. The palate has piles of sweet fruit, with a clear, cedar and mineral edge to the fruit. A good lick of tannin on the end palate, and moderate acidity. This is delightful, and the successful vintage has fostered a real triumph for this property, owned by Dutchman Ilja Gort. Drink over the next five years.

These grapes for these wines are grown in the Saint-Emilion area in a partly sandy, partly pebbly siol. The percentage of Merlot in the wine is between 70% and 80% depending on the year in question, while the yield is low at 45 hectolitres per hectare. In regard to winemaking, the crop is first carefully sorted then vinified in staunless steel tanks under controlled temperature. Following fermentation, 50% of the wine is matured in new oak barrels ; the remaining 50% is matured in oak barrels of one year.

Deep red colour, aromas of ripe fruit (blackberry) where wood yet predominates. On the palate the tannins are refined and the wine has a lovely, persistent finish. This wine should be stored for 2 to 3 years prior to drinking. Its ageing potential is in fact much longer at 15 years in the correct storage conditions (cool cellar).

Chateau Carillon Pomerol Grand vin de Bordeaux is a full bodied wine with distinct notes of dried cherries and currants. This concentrated wine has exceptional balance between the fruit, tannins and oak. It is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.

Chateau Carillon is a large property for Pomerol expanding 45 acres. Soils are mixed between clay and gravel which is great for Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Harvested completely by hand and aged for 15-18 months in a mix a new and 1 year old barrels. Deep ruby/purple color is followed by flavors of ripe plum and cherry fruit. Very lush and seductive with a long velvety finish.

The 2005 Château Thieuley is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. It displays a beautiful dark ruby color and fresh ripe cranberry and pomegranate aromas. On the palate it offers sweet blackberry fruit and a soft lush mouth feel. It is a beautifully sculpted wine, refined and elegant, with a long lasting and firm finish. Drinkable now, but will be even better after a few years of cellaring.

This is an aromatic wine with a good intensity of exotic flavours, particularly citrus and pineapple. Full-bodied and dry, this wine has a smoky finish and is an excellent partner to white fish, asparagus or mussels in a white wine sauce.

Chateau Labégorce (Margaux) 2001: Fresh fruit on the nose, dark and exotic, with some sweet oak. Medium bodied, nicely textured wine which again has a good presence on the palate. Still dominated by primary fruit flavours and oak at the moment, but with nicely put together structure will improve as these integrate. A better vintage here.
